Apple Watch 2 Tipped to Sport Faster CPU, Larger Battery, and More
Apple Watch 2 Tipped to Sport Faster CPU, Larger Battery, and More
Apple is widely expected to host its annual iPhone launch event sometime early next month. The upcoming iPhone is said to sport minimal design changes, and come in three variants. While leaks have been numerous surrounding the next Apple smartphone, the Apple Watch leaks have been comparatively negligible. However, a noted analyst - KGI Securities' Ming Chi Kuo - has now released an investor note hinting that two Apple Watch variants are incoming, and will launch later this year, probably alongside the next iPhone.

The Apple Watch 2 is said to be thinner than the current model, and come with support for GPS alongside a barometer. It will also be powered by a new 16nm processor from TSMC. Kuo also suggests that the Apple Watch 2 will pack a larger battery to accommodate all these new components

Sony to Reveal PS4 Neo in September: Report
Sony to Reveal PS4 Neo in September: Report

With Microsoft revealing Project Scorpio at E3 2016 and Nintendo slated to announce the NX in September, Sony may unveil the PS4 Neo in September as well.

According to French gaming site Gameblog, you can expect the PS4 Neo's first details at an event in New York on September 7. The reason for the location is that it's the same city where Sony made the first public showcase of the PS4 and September 7 gives the company enough time to possibly pre-empt a supposed Nintendo NX announcement that Gameblog claims is on September 12.

The news of a September 7 reveal was corroborated by Vice's gaming section.

"One source, who chose to remain anonymous, described the upcoming event as a "technical showcase." As recently as a few weeks ago, Sony was still nailing down what would actually be shown," a post on Vice reads.

Assuming this is true, it does tie in with what we've heard from publishers in the past, that their upcoming releases from October onwards have to support the PS4 Neo.

Windows 10 to Get 2 Major Updates in 2017, Reveals Microsoft
Windows 10 to Get 2 Major Updates in 2017, Reveals Microsoft
Technology giant Microsoft has announced that it would roll out two major updates for Windows 10 next year after releasing a third and final update in 2016 - the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

"Windows 10, version 1607 is our third Windows 10 feature update released. Based on feedback from organisations moving to Windows 10, this will be our last feature update for 2016, with two additional feature updates expected in 2017," the company wrote in a blog last week.

As per a report by Windows Central, while the first major update for 2017 - codenamed Redstone 2 - would release in the early part of 2017, the second one - codenamed Redstone 3 - might be released in 2017 summer.

This update pattern is similar to the one that the Threshold update wave followed. Much like Threshold 2 was to Threshold 1, Redstone 3 is likely to be a much smaller update compared to Redstone 2. The pattern also indicates a twice-a-year update cycle for the operating system.

Sony Xperia XR Spotted in New Leaked Render
Sony Xperia XR Spotted in New Leaked Render
A new Sony X series smartphone, the Xperia XR, has been spotted in leaked press renders. The alleged Sony Xperia XR can be seen in a host of leaked renders shot from different angles, showing the phone in all its glory.

Shared by phone tipster @Onleaks on Twitter, the leaked renders show Royal Blue colour of the alleged handset.

The front can be seen dominated by the display and maintains the design language of the recently unveiled Xperia X smartphones. The right panel is seen housing the power as well as volume rocker buttons. There is another physical button which is believed to be dedicated camera button or a side fingerprint scanner module. The rear panel apart from housing the primary camera also sport a dual-LED flash module. The bottom panel packs the USB Type-C port for charging. The tipster also claimed dimensions of the Xperia XR to be roughly 146.4x71.9x8.1mm. Unfortunately, there is no word when the Sony Xperia XR is likely to launch, but rumours suggest that the smartphone may be revealed at IFA next month.

Even if the leaked images come out to be true, the Xperia XR may or may not be unveiled in India.
